Never forget where you’ve been. Never lose sight of where you’re going. And never take for granted the people who travel the journey with you.

A LITTLE BACKGROUND

Sunshine Coast, BC

I’ve been very blessed in life… I’ll start by saying that.  My life is pretty non-stop on the go and so when I actually have a moment to take a step back, I certainly have the means to smile and be very, very grateful. I grew up in the heart of a small hippie town called Roberts Creek.  It’s a 45 minute ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay (think Vancouver area) but surprise!- it’s not on the island. I have attached photo evidence for all you visual learners out there. But yes, there are REAL hippies running around town. The one restaurant we have is called the Gumboot, we have a Café, general store, Roberts Creek Elementary School, a yoga studio, and a health food store. That’s all. It’s a pretty magical place and the times I come back from overseas or long trips, it just reaffirms in my heart that this is the greatest place on earth. My childhood memories consist of playing every single sport known to the world with my twin brothers, kick-the-can in our back yard with all our best friends (conveniently many of them lived a 10 minute bike ride away), muddy feet, beach days, making forts, exploring, biking down the mountain, and playing around our family cabin in Gibsons. There wasn’t a lot of time to be spent indoors. My entire family is mega competitive and that still seems like an understatement; they all helped me get to where I am today.

As you can tell by all the photos, I am currently on the Canadian Women’s Volleyball National Team, and yes that is my job. I get paid to travel the world, play volleyball with some amazing women, and compete in random, sometimes-sketchy gyms. I leave places of my heart all over the Earth – and that’s a pretty cool thing.  This lifestyle feeds my obsessive need to travel... and I have a bit of a child sense of wonder which keeps me blissfully happy exploring new countries and cities each year. Photography is a secret passion of mine and as you can see by the volume of photos on this site, I take a lot. Volleyball has provided me with the opportunities to reach the far ends of the earth and experience some incredible things. Usually I’m with a few of my wonderful teammates after a competition or maybe during a break in our professional season, which makes it that much more special. As an individual, I take pride in working as hard as I possibly can and put my whole heart and soul into everything. I love my family, I love my job, and I love to travel – I guess that’s me.

It is both a blessing and a curse to feel everything so very deeply.
